WALNUT CAKE

CAKE TIN 26CM X 11CM)

INGREDIENTS: 

UNSALTED BUTTER 200g
SOUR CREAM 100g
RAW SUGAR 3/4

SELF RISING FLOUR 1 1/2 CUP

MILK (any) 1/4 CUP

EGGS 2

TOPPING/FILLING:

CHOPPED WALNUTS 180g

DARK BROWN SUGAR 2Tbsp

CINNAMON 1 Tsp

SELF RISING FLOUR 2 Tbsp

METHOD:

  1. Pre heat oven to 160 degrees Celsius 

  2. Line cake tin with baking paper

  3. Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature

  4. Cream the butter and sour cream with electric mixer

  5. Add sugar and mix

  6. Once sugar is mixed, crack each egg one at a time, mixing in between

  7. Add milk and mix

  8. Add self rising flour and mix till combined 

  9. In a seperate bowl mix chopped walnuts and dark brown sugar, cinnamon and self rising flour

  10. Pour half of the cake batter into the cake tin. Thpread the batter evenly in the tin with a spatula 

  11. Layer 2/3 of the walnut mixture on top of the batter 

  12. Mix together all topping ingredients and place on top of the cake mixture

  13. Cook cake for about 50 minutes on a fan setting
